Greetings Sangha,
On Dec 5-8 (Friday – Monday), Dong Hung Temple will be hosting a grand celebration of its Lineage in the USA. About 80 Monks and Nuns from approximately 50 Lineage Temples across the USA and from Vietnam will be staying at the Temple.
The celebrations will include food, Dharma Talks, chanting, musical entertainment and sightseeing outings.
Schedule of events.
Friday, December 5th
1-5 pm – Field trip to First Landing State Park with visiting monastics.
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm – Vietnamese service and Chanting.
Saturday December 6th
8-9 am – English-speaking Sangha coffee and snacks offering.
12 noon – Lunchtime
1:30 pm to 4:30 pm – coffee and snacks offering.
Dharma talk to English-speaking sangha given by Thich Chuc Thanh and Thich Tri Hoang.
7 pm to 9 pm – Tea Ceremony (everyone invited)
Sunday, December 7th
7:45 am to 8:45 am – English-speaking service
10 am to 12 noon – Hungry Ghost ceremony
12:30 -2:30 pm – Musical entertainment by the Vietnamese and *American Sangha
2 pm- 6 pm – Field trip to the Waterside area with visiting monastics.
Monday, December 8th
10 am -6 pm – Field trip to Williamsburg and Jamestown with monastics.
*To add to this summary, part of the musical entertainment will be performed by two musicians from our English Sangha, who will provide a variety of instruments and invite audience participation.
