Following the dharma-teaching tradition of previous patriarchs and many generations of great masters of our Buddhist sect in our homeland of Vietnam, we, the resident monks of Dong Hung Temple (aka Buddhist Education Center of America) present the Dharma (the teaching of the Buddha) to all people. While immediately serving Hampton Roads, Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, we serve Buddhist followers and the general public whenever and wherever we are called upon.
Keeping true to the 2,600 year history of Buddhism, we realize the living Dharma under our present circumstances, in our own day in a way that fits our mentality. We remain open to discourse with all religious traditions that strive to contribute significantly to the alleviation of suffering. With this consideration we will always do our best to serve and benefit humankind and each individual without bias and without seeking profit.
